Countdown

Our love story

First meet

25 March 2018

It began with our first date at Fremont Coffee Company (after we both swiped right, of course).

Outdoor Adventures

2018 - Forever

Dating has and continues to be a great adventure. Much of it is spent outdoors whether hiking, camping, kayaking, biking, or backpacking.

Worldwide Travel

2018 - Forever

From New York, to Thailand, and three months in Europe, we will never get tired of exploring new places together.

Halloween Fun

2018 - Forever

Halloween is one of our (but mostly Kayla's) favorite holidays to be creative together.

Animal Lovers

2018 - Forever

Our home is not complete without several furry friends.

Proposal #1

September 30 2021

Jacob proposed to Kayla during a "spontaneous" after-work stroll through the Washington Park Arboretum. Our friend Austin hid close by to take photos of the moment.

Proposal #2

November 21 2021

Not wanting Jacob miss out on the feeling of being proposed to, Kayla proposed right back at the edge of the Grand Canyon.

FAQ

What is the best way to get to the venue from the airport?

Our recommendation would be to fly into SeaTac (Seattle Tacoma International Airport) and rent a car from near the airport. It is approximately a 1.5 hour drive to the venue.

What should I wear?

At the time of the wedding, it will be (fingers crossed) beautiful and sunny in Washington State! Break out your summer dresses, and button up shirts, and channel your best summer garden party look. Reminder that the entirety of the wedding will take place outside, so please bring layers and sensible shoes for grass, gravel, and dancing! If you have any questions about this, don't hesitate to reach out!

Can you tell me more about the lodging?

Most people have the option to stay at the venue for the weekend, or for whatever portion you will be in town for. Almost all of the cabins have a half or full furnished kitchen, with most of the items you will need to cook some food for yourself. Additionally, some rooms have multiple roommates, while others hold only 2. Jacob and I have done our very best to place everyone in as comfortable of accommodations are we can!

How do I pay for lodging at the venue?

Please venmo Jacob @Jacob-Francis-7 for payment. If you don't have a venmo or need clarification about the price, please reach out to either Kayla or Jacob!

What if I can't stay the whole weekend?

That's totally okay! We are so excited to have you as long as you will stay. We have the whole venue from 9/1, Friday evening until check out on 9/4, Monday at 11AM. We are excited to have this extra time to spend with people, or for people to explore the area! The wedding will take place on Saturday, 9/1 and the next day is meant for hiking, games, and catching up with family, as well as meeting new family.

What meals are provided?

Definitely dinner on the wedding day, and brunch the next day. We will likely have plenty of snacks and leftovers throughout the weekend.

What time is the ceremony?

The ceremony will take place later in the afternoon, closer to 3 or 4PM. We will have a clear itinerary posted to the website in due time!

Wow, the venue is so close to Mt. Rainier! Any details you can share about the area?

Absolutely! The venue is a 3-5 minute drive to the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. From there, it's approximately another 40 minutes to the main area where all of the hiking trails start. Our hope is that the day after the wedding can be spent exploring! For out of towners, there is a fee to buy a day-pass. For those who are local, you might want to purchase a Discover Pass, if you like to hike( or you might already have one). Further details about Mt. Rainier and things to do can be found here and here.

What is the address of the venue?

The venue is named the Copper Creek Inn and is located at 35707 WA-706, Ashford, WA 98304. Feel free to check out their website here.

Where do I park?

The entire main cabin area is reserved for our event. There should be clear signage on what areas are free to park in upon arrival.

Is the event indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony and reception will both take place outside, rain or shine! We do have tents to help us with the heat or the rain.

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Your entire party has already been included in the RSVP form.

Are kids invited?

If you are someone with a young child, they are invited and have been included in your RSVP form. But sorry, no pets! (Sorry Remus).

What if I have dietary restrictions?

When you RSVP, there will be a section to add dietary restrictions, so you can inform us there!

Is there a wedding registry?

This is in-progress, but we will add a link to our wedding registry on the website soon. We are thrilled to be planning a honeymoon in Japan, and that is what the wedding registry will primarly focus on!

What is the wedding day itinerary?

Exact wedding itinerary to come!

Can I take photos at your wedding?

We are so excited for people to take photos at our wedding, and we can't wait to share all the photos everyone takes. However, during the ceremony we do ask that our guests do not take photos. We have a lovely photographer who will capture all the lovely moments.

Any Covid-19 protocols to be aware of?

At this time, if you feel sick, we ask that you test and we can go from there. If you are traveling by plane, we would suggest wearing a mask, but it is up to the individual. We love you, but if you test positive, we will have to celebrate with you another time.
